Angular error NG6002: Appears in the NgModule.imports of AppModule, but could not be resolved to an NgModule class

Issue

ERROR in node_modules/@angular/material/dialog/dialog.d.ts:142:22 - error NG6002: Appears in the NgModule.imports of AppModule, but could not be resolved to an NgModule class.

This likely means that the library (@angular/material/dialog) which declares MatDialog has not been processed correctly by ngcc, or is not compatible with Angular Ivy. Check if a newer version of the library is available, and update if so. Also consider checking with the library's authors to see if the library is expected to be compatible with Ivy.

I already tried :

• update/reinstall --> no effect
• restart the server/ empty cache --> no effect
• Disable Ivy --> other error
• Disable aoc --> no errors but white page
• "postinstall": "ngcc" --> no effect
• Ran as sudo --> no effect

Please help me I tried many things and i'm deseperate

Solution

Change this line :

import { MatDialog } from '@angular/material/dialog';

with:

import { MatDialogModule } from '@angular/material/dialog';

also change it in your imports :)
